Our story started with a simple message.
We had a few mutual friends on Facebook, and one day Austin decided to reach out to Shelby and ask her to dinner. Several weeks later, our first date was filled with laughter, endless conversation, tacos (Austin's favorite) and a few margaritas (Shelby's favorite)—we both knew something special was happening. That night turned into 10 hours of talking, connecting on every level, and realizing we had found something real.
The early months of our relationship were filled with joy but also tested by heartbreak. Austin lost a close friend, and Shelby lost her father. Through it all, we were each other’s rock—making sure every need was met, every moment of grief was supported, and that no one ever had to face the hard days alone. It wasn’t always easy, but we built something strong and lasting through the toughest times.
For a while, we managed the chaos of double-living—Shelby still in Charleston, Austin in Myrtle Beach—but even the stress couldn’t keep us from making it work. Whether it was long drives, late-night calls, or weekend trips, we refused to let distance come between us.
On June 1, 2024 Austin decided it was time to pop the question and cleared up Shelby's dads favorite spot in the whole entire world (his pond) and set it up for the perfect proposal. Surrounded by our family at Paul's pond we promised to spend the rest of our lives together. In August of 2024, we finally closed the gap and made Myrtle Beach our full-time home together. Since then, we’ve been soaking in every moment, building a life we love.
We’re avid travelers—always chasing sunsets, new cities, and tropical getaways. Nothing makes us happier than sitting at 30,000 feet in the air with a drink (or two) in hand, off to another adventure. Or, doing absolutely nothing together on a quite little island laughing and loving each other surrounded by God's beautiful blessings.
In November of 2024, our family grew when we rescued baby girl Bean from Colorado. One look at her photo and we knew she needed our love! She’s sweet, spunky, and completely spoiled—and she fits right in with her mama and daddy. Bean quickly became the heart of our home, and we couldn't imagine life without her.
This next adventure—marriage—is the greatest one yet. We’re so grateful to have found each other, and even more grateful to share our love and this celebration with all of you.
Let’s raise a glass to love, laughter, and a lifetime of adventures together.
